Leader of the Conservative Group at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council where the Conservatives are in opposition to a 3 group coalition - Liberal Democrat led with Labour and the Tunbridge Wells Alliance.
First elected to TWBC as a Member for Benenden & Cranbrook in 2014 and re-elected in 2018 and 2022. Following the Local Government Boundary Commission for England review of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council most of the wards have changed significantly with the reduction in Councillor numbers from 48 to 39. I intend to stand for election to the new of Hawkhurst, Sandhurst and Benenden ward in 2024.
My career was spent working for the Bank of England, commuting on the Central Line. Seeking a change of lifestyle, my wife and I moved to Swaylands Barn in Benenden in 2007 where we tend our garden, small holding and an assortment of animals. I became involved in local issues simply wanting to help my local community.
I am a trustee of the Benenden Village Trust which owns and manages some property assets in Benenden and Iden Green, including the Village Hall and Recreation Grounds. I am also a Trustee of Age UK Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford.
My interests include the countryside and the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and sport - mainly watching cricket and rugby as my playing days are over.
