We have been privileged to represent Weald Central comprising, Bethersden, Great Chart with Chilmington Green and High Halden for many years.
Over the years we have worked closely with your Parish Councils to protect our villages from excessive and unsuitable developments, whilst at the same time endeavouring to keep our rural communities thriving and sustainable.
We have used our Ward Member grants to support a variety of local causes, such as the High Halden Hornets, Life is not an Xbox, the George Inn in Bethersden and a de-fibrillator for Chilmington we shall also be providing significant financial support for the King’s Coronation celebrations.
The Council household waste and recycling has continued its outstanding service even over Bank Holidays. Potholes continue to annoy us all, this is the responsibility of the County Council, but we have continually pressed for action with our County Council members and the administration.
As Councillors we have continually pressed for the council tax to be kept at a low rate, hence it is one of the lowest rates in Kent, while providing a high level of services in the Borough of Ashford.
